Ambassadors - East of England

July means that our Regional judges are in action assessing all the entrants for the 2010 awards received in this region. The East of England saw the highest growth in terms of the additional number of entries received, and as a percentage of previous performance, of any English Region so they are busier than ever this year. The outcome of their deliberations will not be known until the Gala dinner in the autumn but we wish all our entrants well.

Even though the judging for 2010 is still underway we are already looking to 2011.  UK Skills have been kind enough to offer me the contract as your Ambassador Coordinator for the 2011 campaign. Work has already started so you may soon start to get emails or telephone calls from me. Having had a good result last year there is quite a bit to live up to but as many of you know there is still untapped potential in the Region and we will be looking to tackle this in the coming year.

NTA Regional Award Winner, Large Employer; Ministry Of Defence Guard Service
Skills Workshops Drive Promotions at MOD

When the Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) needed to increase the number of its first level managers it was met with a problem - only a tiny percentage of eligible employees were choosing to take the promotion process assessment. The MGS arm of the Ministry of Defence Police and Guarding Agency (MDPGA) employs some 4,089 Civilian Security Officers (CSOs). It provides a variety of unarmed guarding services to MOD Establishments covering 213 sites across the United Kingdom, including several high profile establishments.
