Ambassadors - Greater London

We have now passed the deadline for entries for this year's awards and the judging panel is well under way. I am pleased to say that there were 92 entries for London this year and I look forward to seeing an increase in those achieving site visits and Awards following the excellent Ambassador support we have received.

Due to staffing changes I shall not be carrying on as the Ambassador Co-ordinator for London, however you are fortunate in having Steve Martin from UK Skills as your contact. I am sorry that I will no longer be your co-ordinator as I have really enjoyed working with you all. If you wish to stay in touch please do so via Linked In or my personal email: junekwilliams@btinternet.com.

It has been an inspiration to hear the wonderful stories of how training has made a real difference to business performance and success as well as personal achievement and I wish you all every success in the future. I look forward to seeing some of you at the London Awards Ceremony in October.

High-speed Sales Training Defies the Recession

A sales company is teaching its team how to become "Jedi masters".

Mongoose Media is a small contract media sales organisation with 27 staff operating out of North London. They describe themselves as "young advertising sales junkies who pride themselves on delivering promises", and boast a broad range of clients from Newsweek and Time Out to specialized trade magazines and websites.

Mongoose bosses like to hire young graduates and bright school leavers with little or no business experience and train them in-house. To survive and prosper in a volatile sector that has been hit hard by the recession, Mongoose has evolved a highly accelerated training programme that aims to take new trainees through four stages of maturity, from "newbie" to "Jedi master".
