Ambassadors - North West
Well the run up to the 2010 deadline (Friday 23rd April) seems to have well and truly begun. The National Training Awards web site in its new corporate colours has been completely transformed and is now a great resource for us to use in our ambassador work. It will be very useful for all potential entrants at whatever stage they are. If you've not already browsed it, have a look on www.nationaltrainingawards.com
The courier has been busy delivering parcels - some contain material for the forthcoming information sessions but the two of interest here contain information leaflets for our use. Both are headed appropriately 'An Award with a real return'. One is a single A5 information sheet with a business card size reminder of the essential details. The other is a quadruple folded A5 information leaflet giving more detail. Both are attractively laid out and are ideal for our use in encouraging potential entrants. If you would like some delivered to you, would you let me know what you need and I'll make arrangements to get them to you either by post (please give postal address) or via an information session.
NTA UK Awards Winner, Partnership; The Bank of New York Mellon
Financial Services Company Makes People its Number One Asset
When BNY Mellon was looking to hire people at its brand new Manchester office, it faced a challenge. Although the region boasts a strong pool of talented and motivated candidates, few had any experience or knowledge of its specialist business - asset management and securities services.
As part of its commitment to use comprehensive training programmes to develop the knowledge and abilities of all its employees, the organisation approached Greater Manchester-based training provider, Skills Solutions to develop a tool that would enable non-graduates and those without previous financial services experience to secure a vocational qualification in this growing area of financial services.
Together a pioneering Advanced Apprenticeship was developed. Skills Solutions provided the qualifications framework while BNY Mellon defined the relevant modules. The aim was to create a qualification that meets both the organisation's recruitment and career progression needs and Skills Solutions' requirement to enhance skills in Greater Manchester.
