Ambassadors - Yorkshire and the Humber
There are already some wonderful training stories coming through from the information sessions that we are running that will hopefully be transformed into entries in the coming weeks.
We are seeing a good turnout for each session and the
feedback has been really positive. Due to popular demand
we have put on an extra session in Hull on 25th March,
and we have one more session in Leeds on 8th April
There are still a few places available so please continue
to encourage your contacts to book on and find out all
about the entry process for winning that all important
National Training Award.
It is still a very busy time for us at UK Skills, working on promoting the Awards around the region through newspapers, websites and events. There is still plenty of time for us to increase our presence in the region and if you are hosting or are aware of any events taking place in the coming weeks, prior to our closing date on 23rd April, then please let me know as soon as possible at yorkshireandthehumberambassadors@nationaltrainingawards.com.
We have also produced a booklet with case studies of all of our excellent 2009 Yorkshire and the Humber winners which is available for your interest and promotional use. Please contact me if you would like us to send you some copies.
Now is the time to really get behind the Awards and help us make 2010 the best ever!

North Yorks Moors National Park
Training the Next Generation in Traditional
Countryside Skills
Faced by challenges such as an aging population of contractors, a loss of traditional countryside management skills and a lack of employment for young people locally, the North York Moors National Park decided to launch a unique apprenticeship scheme. It has now been running for six years with a 100% success rate.
The North York Moors National Park is a Local Authority with responsibility for a great variety of landscapes and habitats. Its two core objectives are to aid public access to, and recreation in, the National Park and conserve the natural habitat.
